This was written about a toddler who was snatched and killed by an alligator at a Disney World hotel in Orlando, FL.
Sleep, little one, sleep,
as those who love you weep.
Your time on earth is sadly through;
tragic, you were only two.
Under mommy and daddy's watchful eyes,
a beast of enormous size,
attacked, snatched you lighting fast.
Your daddy tried to grab you but you slipped past.
The beast was just too strong,
and he held you down too long,
beneath the placid lagoon,
where you died too soon, too soon.
Your mommy and daddy are shocked and broken,
numb as condolences are spoken.
Their lives will never be the same,
each one taking on the blame.
Sleep, little one, sleep,
as those who love you weep.
In the arms of Jesus you now lie,
while the angels sing a lullaby.
