tree gnome appears
Tree gnome appears in silence every April or May
We do not hear his footsteps, they are light like a roach’s.
Some springs he skips us, but he is always here when needed
Today I was not surprised to see him due to turmoil in the woods
The trees are whispering things they should not be whispering
I can hear them under the ground, and the worms are disturbed
Tree gnome gave me a nod, which delighted me ever so much.
He rarely honors a human; pretends we are not here, actually.
I wondered if he might speak, but he pointed instead.
I saw the falcon, staring at me. It means something.
I wish I knew what.
