Today

I need not travel far to sense God’s nearness -- the trill of His many lyrical voices – Surely the oriole knows same intimacy; as does every petal on the thrilling rose, dripping luscious color with scent – Clays-of-clouds inspiring mental needing – the toes of an infant, twitching destiny to explore, long before bottoms callus, and his legs steadying for firm excursion -- Today, I think, I will be a child again – in my mind and heart reacquaint myself with good witches in fairy-tales, and with angels and prayer – …. Treating phones and Internet like 14th century plague….

Sometimes thats the best distraction to go back in time, be a child at heart, and all that youv mentioned in your last stanza stands out for me as well as how youv written “ rose, dripping luscious color with scent – Clays-of-clouds inspiring mental needing – the toes of an infant, twitching” clever as always how you weave words. You definitely have a way with words and expressing! Pleasure reading this.

Thank you, IE; as you know, it is a lot of fun to play with word combinations, trying to make poetic images that are novel. Great satisfaction when the writer's efforts are successful. Thank you, my friend. Have a wonderful weekend!

"the toes of an infant, twitching destiny to explore, long before bottoms callus, and his legs steadying for firm excursion" -- This has brought an image of my first and only grandchild who is passing exactly through this stage in her attempt to walk. Your description paints a true picture of the toddler's attempt to walk. The Bible says that we should be like children and promises that those who are lowly like children shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Great Thoughts dear Joe.

Hi Valsa; she sounds like a darling grandchild. Loosing count, but I think I have 4 great-grand now. Where has time gone...?

A poem of good choice, it appears. I would be glad to escape the novelties and to find more time for fun.

I know...wanting and to be able, due to overwhelming responsibilities is often a fruitless exercise. Thank you, Hilda. Have a beautiful day!

I'd like to do the same thing, Joe. I can sense God every morning when I walk through my small neighborhood. I feel His presence. I have a book of fairy tales and occasionally just pick it up and read one...fun times. Sometimes, I'd like to treat the Internet like the plague...but then I couldn't share poetry. Hmm...such a plight :-) have a great evening, Sara

I know...it's addicting...but when used for good, making friends and sharing positive vibrations, its God's work also. I hear ya. Still, every now and then it feels right to drop out for a short spell, to my way of thinking anyway. Thank you my friend. Have a great evening.

I cannot blame you. Once upon a time, I read as many fairy tales as I could find.

I love Fairy-Tales. Read my book, "Land of Beginnings" if you have a chance. Thank you, Victor.
