Notes About The Poem

It's April 2, yet we experienced an uxpected downy snowfall.....the world seems to be at peace.

Today

Downy white snow clinging softly
                             to brown brittle branches.

                       Birds silenced and sequestered
in the sprawling woods, far from sight.

Feral cats hiding behind the lean-to shed
preen and rest, await the unsuspecting prey.

A spatial landscape, painted in peace and harmony
                                         TODAY.

I read your poem twice, and each time I could see your words as I read. What a lovely picture they painted.

Your poem really speaks to me, Paulette, as we await the first snowfall of the season. Superb alliteration in line 2. The image of feral cats huddled away is delightful as well. Best wishes, Brian

Paulette, you are either living somewhere with snow, you have posted this months later, or you truly remember a specific day. No matters. This is beautifully built!
