To Visit Shadows
How do I measure my yesterday's spent?
As only my mind holds them ever close.
Like buds from a rose, in silent descent,
They crumble in time, evoking pathos.
Dare visit these shadows where once I dwelled,
And open their door seeking refuge.
Only to see failures, still closely held,
Clinging to my soul like a powered red rouge.
To pause and reflect on my journey's past,
And dance with reasons of self-content.
To understand my life's rendered contrast,
And know shadows are from my own consent.
To know before a point of no return.
Would deny all knowledge I came to learn.
