This enduring smile of loves illusions Delicate in nature to harm or fate Sweet of taste, these pervasive delusions. Thriving in what seems boundless profusion From youths budding blossoms that will not wait This enduring smile of loves illusions My heart lays prey to welcomed intrusions Petals that fall cannot possible sate Sweet of taste, these pervasive delusions. Bearing no fruit in darkened seclusion Hope's brightness and cheer must never abate This enduring smile of loves illusions. Bright its color that bares no confusion That with Gods greatness could only create Sweet of taste, these pervasive delusions. True in hope, pray my only conclusion Be boundless love that my heart celebrates This enduring smile of loves illusions Sweet of taste, these pervasive delusions. I've only read a couple of these, but yours is my favorite so far. Great creativity with where you went with this, and I just adore your repeat lines ... "Sweet of taste, these pervasive delusions" ... you spoke the truth in a most eloquent fashion, Charlie. Well penned, villanelle.
