(Rewrite of one of the first poems I wrote here at the Soup)

          YOU ...

are a mystery, a spellbinding novel,
each new chapter more enigmatic than the last.
I read you with my fingertips,
pausing to regard the inches, to savor each,
like a meaty word that I turn over in my thoughts,
in careful consideration ... of its flavor.
With the gentle brush of my palm,
one precious span of your opaline flesh is added unto the next,
inch linked to dynamic inch ...
like the flowing, voltaic sentences of a master wordsmith.
The journey of each phrase of your contours
bespeaks to my core a torrid tale of longing, pure ...
a hunger to delve ever further into the sultry, shapely, sinewy saga
that your alluring body whispers to me -
whispers and sighs, with its subtle, spicy shivers:
to realize the destination of this epic journey,
to unravel the mysterious and beguiling narrative
that your anatomy conveys to my core,
the sublime, licentious and seductive story that is ...

Who could forget this beauty. I commented on it I am certain because I remember it and it's shape. This has been happening to me a lot and to others too. Our comments don't show up as if they were removed because I check after I post. ?? Anyway Greg...this is exquisite!

Thank you so much, Connie, I so appreciate the kind and heartfelt comments! It has happened to me as well ... in all my time at Poetry Soup I have only removed TWO comments, and that's because they were offensive. I would never remove anyone's comment otherwise, even negative ones, (as long as they aren't rude). I think there's some kind of glitch in the system. Blessings! :-) <3

Yes, exactly how the skin should be touched, softly- as the being aches for more. How moments should unfold- when savoring the sweetness of every curve. This is so beautiful, so sensual and very romantic. Simply breathtaking. ~ Brandy

Such a lovely and thoughtful comment, Brandy, I thank you so very much, and I'm so pleased you enjoyed it! Your poem made me think of that story, and I remembered I had one that was similar. It's a fun metaphor to dabble with! Blessings, Dear Friend! :-) <3

This very nicely encapsulates how I read and why I have never been interested in "speed reading". "I read you with my fingertips" is lovely.

Very kind of you, Jim, and I greatly appreciate your thoughtful comments ... totally agree about taking time "reading" - gotta let those "words" sink in, and enjoy each like the tender morsel it is. Blessings, my friend! :-)

Thank you so much, Sunlite, I so appreciate the kindness! I get lucky once-in-a-while ... even a broken clock is right twice a day, so I figure if I write enough poems, I'm bound by percentages to "hit" every-so-often, haha! Blessings my friend! ;-) <3
