To Feel the Warmth Again 1 Couplet
I need to feel warmth again
To feel the protection of the Divine
The memory of eternal beauty
The dark sapphire nights surrounded by star light
The laughter of a neighbor
The time to work to make the world a better place
And with help turning off the pain of man
Time to watch the news without cringing
Perhaps it has always been there
I have worked and sent funds all my life
Around the world and here at home
Yet now it feels disparate and overwhelming
Everything seems so dark and cold
I once went to Quaker meetings
And Unitarian too, but now there is a lock down
Too much arthritic pain and illness too
It seems like such an empty time
Though I have seen the caring of some
Struggling to help with food and health
Near the denial of others playing in the sun
While nurses and health workers grow tired
And people loose their homes
It seems like such a cold time
Shouldn’t greed be shuttered down
I need to feel the warmth again
The starlight purple nights
To feel the deep sense of the Divine
And the hope and wonder of a caring mankind
