Whenever anyone wants to share romance, such as at weddings or anniversaries, or wants words of faith and hope in a wake or funeral, or words of joy at the birth of a baby being baptized, or profound words in time of war, or in celebration of our nation, or at elections; What wise words do they call upon to convey their joy, sorrow, passion, hope, peace and love.... POETRY! Keep writing and giving your poetic gifts. They are appreciated by many who don't even know they are counting on those words to make a service special, to bring joy, give pause, prayer, blessings, and rhetoric that sustains, touches hearts, gives comfort, teaches humility, instills pride, it is POETRY! Let us celebrate Poetry Month by writing, creating, or reading a poem a day this spring month of April. © Connie Marcum Wong *April is Poetry Month*

Poetry month is over - but as you say it is important to read and write verse. My late father said it teaches you how to feel! Peace & Love Matthew Anish

Andrea darling, it is you who tops me and so many when it comes to the love of poetry. You demonstrate it by all the contests you manage to enter, all the forms you fearlessly try, and the way you celebrate the talent of others. Thank you for such a beautiful and sincere comment. Love, Connie ; )

It is very rewarding to have your poetry appreciated Jan. That is very nice. I am a minister, from online, and married my daughter to her husband in 2010. Then baptized my grandchildren and read my own words at both. It was fun. Thank you and hugs, Connie :)

Thank you Mark. I wrote this after a poet friend told me she was being snickered at for being a poet. We owe so much to the art of words. It compelled me to write this poem. :)
