Time Then and Now
That was the time then
when time had facile fluidity
flowing like smooth autumn breeze,
touching the somber edges of indolent life.
You walked in slow pace, gladly let me pass,
held my hand with passion for a long period,
waited to listen when I spoke.
Your tolerance showered cool empathy
on my blazed troubled time.
You encased me with the petals of mind
when I was gone, never to return.
I could look through my transparent life,
see happiness glitter in the core.
My soul was a flower of bliss
in the bouquet of togetherness.
This is the time now
when time is verily viscous
sliding in designed cascading course,
crushing the stony fringe of impatient life.
You rush with the mad crowd, don’t let me go,
your arms no longer reach me to embrace,
in cacophony you don’t listen when I speak.
Your compassion has morphed into a mirage
in the desolate desert of my time.
When I’m gone you erase instantly
my fading face from your secluded slate.
I can’t look through my opaque life,
don’t see where happiness has sunk.
My soul is a snapped thread
in the worn tapestry of discord.
