Three Wishes
Three wishes granted me – my first would be
that I’d not show, especially on my face,
my aging! How I hate the lines and sag.
I’d wish to stop them ever taking place.
The second wish I’d make is for one thing
more necessary than impressive wealth.
If I might have it also for the ones
I love, I’d wish for all of us good health!
Wish three is what I think most people want -
to have a life of peace and happiness.
If all the world could have it too, I’d say
forget my first wish. I’ll take one wish less!
