Three Days Long
Hungry and straitened ...
Enlarged and content
Made to suffer
earthly famine-starved pain
Comforted by faith pleasure
of heavenly, future falling Eden rain
As I await to go lay in my dirt bed
three days long,
I believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead,
wearing a holy Resurrection crown
Alleluia is the poured baptism water
of my Amen song
The short slumber before the change
is gonna be three days long
Every Word of God is the manna
which satisfies my famished soul
This cold dead body is comforted
by the warmth of the quickening coals
These Christian bones
will be buried in the hearth of the earth
three days long
When I shall arise,
Alleluia will be the poured praise
of my Amen song
