Thoughts About Time

I have no time; I can’t do it. Let’s take a moment, take a sit, Think about time for just a bit. Relax for now, don’t throw a fit. It’s not the time that holds us back, And not the time that we most lack. Maybe we don’t use our time well, Think about that for just a spell. Twenty-four hours in each day, We get to choose to use our way. We have a choice what we will do, Then do our best till we are through. It’s not no time, it’s lack of will, That causes us to just sit still. So, get your list and choose just one. First choose the thing that must get done. List the items by urgency, Eliminate emergency. One at a time, just do your best, More time tomorrow for the rest.

Thanks for the visit and comments, SO. Sometimes I drift into simple almost silly poetry, my saving point is that they usually do have a point to think about in there somewhere. Have a great week, my friend! A poet friend in Texas, Bill

Much poignant advice Bill. When I was young, time was my worst enemy. There was never enough hours in the day. Now I have time to do everything at a leisurely pace. I can stop to smell the roses, and even read a book in one sitting if I choose to. Its wonderful. (Just like your poem)

I'm still busy each hour of everyday, SV. I'm trying to slow down, at 79 it shouldn't be busy all the time. Thanks for the comments on my poetry. I enjoy reading and commenting on yours too. Bill

Excellent advice Bill, I’m trying to make the most of time, but there’s never enough time when one’s engrossed in poetry rhyme… Belle

Another succinctly penned poem with a bit of wisdom. Time is abstract; we can't touch it, taste it, smell it, or hear it. When we say we have no time, we're incorrect--as you so aptly said. We make choices of what to do with time. To say we have no time is (in my mind) a misnomer, perhaps it's a matter of priorities or sneaking little snippets of time to nibble away at something we can't seem to get done. Your poem triggered my thoughts, and I'm grateful. Have a great Sunday,my hero, Sara

It’s not no time, it’s lack of will, That causes us to just sit still--well said my friend. Time is all about planning and then getting it done. Great advice you convey, Bill.
