Thought of the Day

Welcome to Planet Earth, Our very own looney bin, Where no human Is without sin. Surely it is not only us out there, Perhaps more advanced beings, Or, perhaps not, In an eternal universal space, There must be another Inhabited place, No matter who they are Or who they be. Rumour has it, we are contagious That the symptoms we display, Will reach galactic proportion, Bringing upon us diseases, lack of water Deforestation, many a misfortune, Oh dear God, forgive us, We have ruined, Almost all that you gave us, Sadly through over population, God, have you reached your tether With us, we have even Altered out weather, Animals have no home, forests Are being depleted, Because of Mans greed, Our asylum can no longer proceed, We must concede, For we have to succeed, No one knows what to do, We are losing our sanity, Suicides, murders, torture, We must search or souls To regain humanity, And refrain from profanity It was predictable, Many have become despicable, War, criminality, sheer brutality, Our children through social media losing their innocence and individuality, We need salvation, And must open our doors to The poor, the desperate, the needy Whoever the Nation, Remember we all come under The same umbrella, of God’s creation.

I think we collectively are losing sanity; too much is going on all at once; some believe it's change that must happen, but I have trouble believing that children have to die for change. It makes no sense. Well penned thoughts on our sad times.

A sad truth...very accurate Jennifer. Sometimes I just look at the sky high up and think if we are alone in this big wide world. I believe we aren't but ofcourse we don't have proof...A great write!

I hope we don't reach other planets to tell you the truth, we have ruined one planet, was that not enough? Littering outer space no less...YIKES. May the Father forgive us and bring us to our senses real quick like. It will truly take the hand of God to deliver us from our mayhem and the destruction we have caused. I agree with Andrea, sometimes humanity can be more beastly than beasts, that's for sure. Sad. Hugs to you.

I agree with nearly everything in your poem. Especially the part of how we act so beastly sometimes as humans, making us lower than the beasts!!!

Jennifer, this is an outstanding poem, I could go on all day about wars, hunger, pandemics, injustice, and selfishness. Many aspects of our current era and of the human psyche have been represented beautifully through your lines, and we can constantly seek ways to recover humankind by becoming the answer. In order to assist people who are in need. All we can do is pray and hope that things might turn better.

We all have to do some soul-searching, Jenny. Somewhere along the road we surely must have 'sinned', even if not intentionally. We have t be kind to Mother Earth and love our neighbor. ~ Warm regards & Hugs // paul

True, Beautiful, Free in the Lord Jesus, for His payment on our behalf. Gratitude in humanity will be seen in Good Stewardship of the planet, and it is never too late. God's good earth can rebuild ... but our avarice must be curtailed. Some businesses are showing the way. I hope RA bans plastic bags as Europe and French overseas islands Reunion) has done. No sensitive person can look upon this assault on Nature with equanimity. War and criminality continue to destroy and distance man from man. Instead of going ahead with our brutality man should stay close to man in love and fellowship. That's the only way to regain what we have lost ! Jenny, you have such a humane soul and in many of your poems you raise similar concerns . A Great poem.... Being a bit busy with guests at home, I shall come to your other poems later.

I am beginning to think the inmates are running the asylum - we must be more protective of this Earth, for there is only one of Her~

Yes, some many ills plus social ills are on planet earth, and as individuals we can only do so much, but we can do a little each day to help save our world. I enjoyed reading your work. Your visits to my page were uplifting. Sara

Your lines "We must search our souls / To regain humanity" says so much. You have captured here so much of the insanity of our present age and of the human condition, but we can always look for ways to regain humanity by being the solution. To help those who are hurting. Well said, my poet friend. Hugs and blessings ~ John
