This Special Joy
I smiled, when she was passed to me,
with thanks for life, of which I'm part.
Grandson's first child- new branch of tree;
great-granddaughter- took hold my heart.
I never dreamed this day would come;
four generations make the sum.
How precious, in my arms, asleep;
this special joy, I will hold deep.
When she was passed to me, with thanks
for life of which I'm part, I smiled.
New branch of tree- great-granddaughter;
took hold my heart- grandson's first child.
I never thought I'd share this day;
to God, with heartfelt thanks, I pray.
