This Rainy Night
I hear that sound; raindrops racing
on my rooftop, out of sight.
Thunder, lightning I'll be facing
this dark rainy night.
The moon is hiding, so no light
but for that which I am bracing;
electric bolts that stir deep fright.
Comfort is my quilt, embracing.
Wake me soon to morning bright;
sunny day at last erasing
this dark rainy night.
