This Lost Highway
Shadows stretch out across this lost highway.
Cool winds dance dying leaves as the sunsets cast.
At the edge of sky, hues of gold and Crimson fire.
Far into the distance becoming indigo racing.
From the black of night; the jewels of ancient stars
like fine crushed Moondust glitter across this vault.
Of heaven casting silver over dark silhouettes
shadows loom, I head into the distance.
My future is yet to come walking shadow stretch
as I leave the dance, in the chilly autumn light.
Breeze caressing as I close my eyes staring
into forever only seeing the dark darkening distance.
Shadows linger at the door, starlight puddles
into rooms of silver pools from stars far away & above.
Shadows stretch out of crossed this lost highway.
Cool win dances, drying leaves the sunsets cast.
My future is yet to come walking shadow stretch
as I leave the dance in the chilly autumn light
Waiting for what is to come, somewhere into the horizon,
something watching, waiting.
Far into the distance becoming indigo
midnight far, far above.
