Thirsting For Water From a Deep Well

Thirsting For Water From A Deep Well

can Love hold this expanse
art painted into life's worn trails
sweet dreams casting passion's might
reality, decay
sad futility of false hope

Thank you my friend. I love that descriptive term--" a palpable despair".... As in when one can almost taste/touch paradise, but its ever elusive might wins out.

Thank you my friend. My muse gave me a helping hand and promised me she would stop being so lazy and maddening critical of my puny mortal birthed ideas....

I remember the words of one of the great French poet: "The Hell?" "Doesn't exist." "The Art?" "Exists." The Art exists. It's the only thing that matters.

Thank you my friend. Poetry is the greatest Art. It is a gift given and one that holds many keys. We mere mortals can look back at the golden poets of old and ask ourselves--can we dare to flow in such giant footsteps? And Poetry answers us, yes you can -if you but with heart;s love and truth dedicate your life to that magnificent and resplendent cause!
