They Think I Am Like Them

They think I am like them I have none of their beliefs But they want to think it So, I let them Because I like being a part of their group And I am a social animal And you can never have too many friends It amazes me they think their ways are the only ways If there is one thing I am It is a person who embraces flexibility I listen to their banter and I smile Amused they think what they think Keeping my almost opposite views safely tucked away

Good thinking. You know, I pretty much do the same thing, Caren. But, occasionally, I speak my piece because I simply have to get it out! I even do that on Poetry Soup. Shame, shame! No, smirk, smirk! Especially when I get to thinking "why should I suffer in silence?" or develop a "woe is me" attitude.

I like keeping myself out of a confrontation; I will do almost anything to avoid one.

Caren, a mentor of mine once told me: "You have the right to be right, the right to be wrong, and the right to keep your mouth shut in both instances." A very difficult thing to accomplish....I commend your restraint.

I am so much older than my co-workers, I keep silent, not wanting to "tip my card hand"
