There was a boy

True story about a breakthrough helping a child in Human Services There once was a boy, only wanting safety and love He hid from the yelling, in the attic above Abuse had sent his soul running behind walls Outside and within him, hidden from painful falls He lost his voice, the fear didn't let him speak Until playing games with photos of expressions, made him peak Trust was built in time with all kinds of activity With days of reassurance and consistent brevity Until one day, conversation about his fears tied to a balloon, letting them go into the sky up to the moon Suddenly he was full of questions and babbling with joy He was no longer that little, silent boy Heidi Sands 1/28/24 (C)opyright

This is so touching dear Heidi and you have written it with great sensitivity. Touches the heart of the reader for this dear, little boy. The last two lines bring great joy to read that he was able to let go of his fear and find his voice again. It must have been so wonderful to witness. So glad to read a happy positive ending. Thank you for this inspiring read. Blessings to you :)

Thank you so much Sandy and I appreciate the Fave too. The game I used was one I actually made with cards that had facial expressions to help him express his feelings :)

Awesome story, my friend. It's a tragedy when kids suffer--unable to open up and share what bothers them. You have a success story here, Heidi. The child will forever be grateful for the kindness shown to him.
