There Are Days When
The unsure path is steep and rough, I’m so tired
My legs refuse to walk any farther without prop
On a futile journey becoming with time so hard
There are days when I think it’s time now to stop.
The journey started long ago, I need to complete
The stormy wind lashes me all the time blowing
A wreck, I’ve my destiny behind dark cloud to meet
There are days when I think sky won’t stop falling.
The twilight hours arrived in the horizon too early
I’ve seen opaque night on me so quickly descend
Dreadful dreams of failed life constantly haunt me
There are days when I think this night won’t end.
You came flying like latticed butterfly in spectral dawn
But in summer when my blooming garden turned fawn
You drifted away leaving me to bear the pain forlorn
There are days when I think you haven’t yet gone.
To give a new meaning to my life that I shall retain
There are days when I think you’ll come to me again.
