The Wishing Well

I fell down the wishing well, but no one came behind me. Didn't anyone miss me? Didn't anyone want to find me? I fell into a puddle of water and almost broke my leg Not realizing when I had fallen I had actually cracked my head. Reeling around in a tizzy with fright creeping up my shoulder The thought hit me like a ton of bricks that weighed as much as a boulder. I fell down the wishing well, but no one came behind me. Maybe others don't wish.... Thats why no one came to find me. I'am here in the well just me to my thoughts Wondering if I'am indeed the one who is lost. Maybe they're the ones who are lost but I'am just too afraid Wait no thats not it. My thoughts I do betray I fell down the wishing well and then someone came behind me. I said "How did you get here?" and he said "Because I was wishing you'd come and find me."

If our words were the only wells we fall in we could never wait, or be lost. People come to our words like ants to fat, or butterflies to flowers. I love to hover here. Love.

This is a great write. It has such a deeply hidden spiritual side to it. We are never lonely for long if we are lonely, and we are never truly alone. The magic of a wishing well fits so perfectly here as life and the soul are so full of magic. Smiles from Lolita

Wow, Laura, great twist at the end here!! Gave me chills; she was not as alone as she first thought. And, surely, someone WILL come behind her. Love this poem! Carolyn
