The Wearing of the Green
Green grasses of the springtime
Perfume the warming air.
Apple and flowering cherry trees
Have donned their fresh new wear.
The blades of spring are spreading
Far across the valley land
When spring is in its infancy
Drab colors have been banned.
St Patrick’s Day is nearing.
Mark the date, March seventeen,
And everyone is Irish
With the wearing of the green..
