The View As I Wait
There are two types of wire fence here
Squares and diamonds
It's not interesting
Apart from the fact the competing patterns look like those in an iris
I can look through them
There's an abandoned building
Sturdy yet decaying
Once occupied
Now just residual energy that carries weight, felt from two fences away
Between me, them and the building is a path
I'd have to walk quite far to get onto it
Then I'd walk the space between squares and diamonds
Between the pattern of the iris
See things differently
Maybe see myself gazing at an empty building deep in thought
