The Ukrainian Flag Flies Again In Kherson

The Ukrainian flag flies again in Kherson, it is a joy to see
The Russian army are running scared from Ukraines military
Russia pulled out its army saying it was a tactical move
But against Ukraines valiant army, they have a lot to prove.

Their so called special military operation is now lying in tatters
Total victory for the brave Ukrainians is now all that matters
Russia have had many setbacks you hear about them everyday
Ukraine will not yield to the Russians and are driving them away.

The retreating Russian army have now pulled back to the Dnipro River
With a harsh winter approaching I hope they get frostbite and shiver
They've behaved like wild animals and they do not deserve to live
It will be a cold day down in the furnace of hell before anyone can forgive.

But Ukraine remains cautious as the Russians beat a hasty retreat
Vladimir Putin is so thick skinned and he will not accept defeat
They've probably laid booby trap explosives, to inflict fatal injury
They don't care who they kill, be it innocent civilians or military.

Vladimar Putin will be removed from power, it is just a matter of time
I hope he's handed over, and in the Hague charged with his heinous crime
But for now proud Ukrainians celebrate, as their flag again flies in Kherson
I pray that in time we'll hear about Ukraines victory, and how the war was won.

Close to the heart. Still sad that this is happening. I see the precious kids of my friend who were brought here before the war. Orphans that have parents, freedom and no war. But my friends hearts hurt for the country they’ve been to several times. Keep writing, dear one.

Dear Tom, I'd much rather receive the news from you than any network. You're never biased, and you have a fantastic way with words. Congratulations, pats on the back and big hugs for having your story recognized as poem of the day. (((Tom))) That's a hug!

Lol thanks for the pat and hug, often wondered what those commas meant. Its a great morale boost for the Ukrainian people, they needed some good news. As for that scum digging in by the river, I hope they all freeze to death. Tom

Tom, you've been the PS "On-the-spot reporter" for the Ukraine tragedy ever since it began. Nice to see some humiliation come Putin's way for his egregious invasion, and some light at the end of Ukraine's tunnel. Well done, sir, congrats for your POTD award. Hope all is well ~ John

Thank you very much John, I hate injustice of any kind and this is a great injustice against a peaceful nation. It's a clear message to other despots in the world, invade a country who is no threat and the west will help them, the sheer bravery of the Ukrainians must be applauded. All good here and I hope you are too. Tom

Great research-filled descriptive as well as objective writing. Great scenes are beautifully depicted. "I pray that in time we'll hear about Ukraines victory, and how the war was won" - Surely Ukrain will tell us. Lessons are taught and learned in this process. Congratulations.

Yes, the "Ukrainians" can now "celebrate, as their flag again flies in Kherson." They have been through so much. I agree with you, "Vladimar Putin will be removed from power, it is just a matter of time." I hope it happens very soon. This is deep and inspiring, all at the same time. Congratulations Tom, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

Thank you very much John, they are fierce warriors who have proved themselves as such. They didn't ask for this war and were no threat to Russia. Putin is thick skinned and won't admit defeat but I believe it will be the end of him if he carries on. Quicker the better for all mankind, can't believe just one man has caused all this upheaval for the whole world. Hope your weekend is going well. Tom

Big Congratulations on POTD! Dear Sir Tom, you have given us another day of celebration. I feel joy for the Ukrainians as their flag flies again. Unfortunately, Russians had their own celebration of an ICBM being wheeled through Moscow during a Russian military parade yesterday! This war unfolded right before our eyes, the world must witness. I pray with you! :)

Once again, a terrific commentary on this brutal war, Tom. Your words are a veritable RAY OF SUNSHINE 'midst the horror of it all... I can assure you that the West is badly underreporting the beating Ukraine has taken, both physical and psychological. My wife and all her many relatives are from the Kharkiv region, and the reports from their friends still there would break the hardest of hearts. It is way beyond grim. Even if Putin loses this war, he will have gained the 'satisfaction' - may he and his satisfaction rot in Hell - of totally demoralizing those who couldn't leave... Keep at it, Sir Thomas!!! Thanks, gw

I think that if the battlefield losses continue this winter, Putin will be whisked away to Siberia -- only to be replaced by someone even worse. Russia is Russia is Russia. In Hebrew, the word 'Russia' means evil. No denying it...

Thank you very much for your congrats Gershon, there is no sugar coating what those animals have inflicted on the Ukrainian people, I would never forgive them for what they have done. Children, women and old men killed and thrown in a pit. I hope Ukraine unleashes hell on that scum. I hope to hear one day that the physchopath Putin has been assassinated. I'd gladly pull the trigger. I'm sorry to hear your wife's relatives and friends have suffered under that scum. Tom
