The Time Is Now
The time is now, to take my leave of you
Grieve my absence as you wish, but only if it will help you
I am still here in thoughts, words and places
Memories and photos of friends and family faces
This goodbye is a momentary sorrow
Please do not weep, I’ll see you tomorrow
I’m just down the road, I’m popping next door for a bit
Won’t be long, we’ll have a cuppa, don’t worry I’ll make it
Talk about me often if you like, recall the times we had
The laughs and good times, far too many now to be sad
But, your lives go on, after my departing
So live them, ’tis new adventures you’re just starting
If you need me, then think my name, I’ll be near
No matter wherever or whenever it is, I’ll be there
Take comfort from my life lived long and full
I am the lucky one to have known you all
So I say to you now, we’re still together in thought and mind
Raise a glass once in a while and say, “cheers friend”
But
The time is now for me to go, I’m tired and I need my rest,
Farewell, take care, see you again, all the best.
