The Time Between the Seasons
When you turn the page from summer to fall,
you’re likely to think no time’s passing at all;
the problem is most folks can hardly recall
the time between the seasons.
And when you transition from winter to spring;
you don’t miss a step, or notice a thing.
Those nondescript days that life so often brings:
the time between the seasons.
When we think of seasons, our time is too coarse;
we’re racing through days like a runaway horse.
Sometimes, we must slow down and not try to force
the time between the seasons.
With Thanksgiving, Christmas, the Fourth of July,
we’re planning ahead, and yet we wonder why
there’s gaps in our memory and time seems to fly:
the time between the seasons.
Just wake up and relish what this day extends;
spend the day feasting with family and friends,
and you will have found the life that God intends:
the time between the seasons.
