The Tightrope
As silent tears fall
she’s alone.
And trying to find answers.
Is there any hope left?
Is there a reason
behind the pain?
The hate, the hurt, the fear?
Yet the only answer
she receives
is the bitter silence
she deems as meaning
hopeless.
And she believes it.
Helpless.
Hopeless.
Worthless.
Useless.
She believes it all.
That the light she sees
at the end of the tunnel
is only but a fire
left by others
such as she.
That its only shortly when
the flames burn out
and again
its dark and cold
leaving nothing
but disappointment.
She’ll continue walking,
walking the tightrope.
And if she falls?
Its over, she’ll be gone.
That maybe,
things might be better
once she finally falls.
And she believes it all.
