The Thrill Is Gone-Revised
It had been a long empty time I was lone,
sunk in darkness insular where I lost me,
probing there I discovered the new pathway,
never I walked on.
Breaking all the barriers set out one day,
with the joy of young freedom for a traverse
on a track with arduous effort to go
as far eyes could see.
Journey through a deep valley of life youthful,
took me to a green plateau with tree cover,
stood a thicket high in ebony night air.
Moon rays lit glimmer.
In me arose temptation, tried to explore,
depth of silence in unknown hostile terrain.
Last mile walker this I will never venture,
thrill’s gone forever.
