The Threads of Dreams

The Threads of Dreams I tossed all keys and chains Cast the rigged dice of fate Fled to the fields dancing Jumping fences barefoot To meet the rising sun A stream of daisies Bountiful blond wreath Joined in celebration Wrapped around my head And my mind launched Into a dazzling search on A sea world cloaked With the illusory threads of dreams Teeming with intoxicating stories Promises of escape . . . But already everything Fades and eludes me And gently I fall back Into sleep’s silent embrace.

Loved the wonderful exuberance in your poem, Anne Marie! I especially liked the twist at the end where you reveal that this was just a dream...excellent, 7. :)

I'm glad you liked it. To be honest Laura, this is my exuberance for life I guess that shows in my 'failed' attempt at dreaming. I just can't remember a single dream, so I'm dreaming awake:)

Your words manage to capture a state of being and paint it with vivid images onto the paper before the dream vanishes from our sphere of appreciation. Emile.

Thank you so much for your comment Broken Wings. I wonder if they are actually of a dark nature since I can't remember them:)

Their fleeting, elusive essence is what fascinates me. Thank you Tim for your comment:)

Oh Anne-Marie. Stunning Beautiful Visionary Tenderness Inner Peace and more much more. I love the timeless theme. Your words bring it to life. Just the title alone is very poetic all in itself. Be proud. Well done in its entirety.
