The Threads of Dreams
The Threads of Dreams
I tossed all keys and chains
Cast the rigged dice of fate
Fled to the fields dancing
Jumping fences barefoot
To meet the rising sun
A stream of daisies
Bountiful blond wreath
Joined in celebration
Wrapped around my head
And my mind launched
Into a dazzling search on
A sea world cloaked
With the illusory threads of dreams
Teeming with intoxicating stories
Promises of escape . . .
But already everything
Fades and eludes me
And gently I fall back
Into sleep’s
silent embrace.
