The Tender Lost Doe

The sway of my willow weeps in the morn’- As daybreak ascends I am already forlorn. To me the worst time is when the day begins- I lay in bed and count all my reckless sins. For I am a lost doe crying for her parents- Her despair for affection is definitely apparent. Belonging to the wilderness may shield my woe- But why do I feel like that tender sad doe? She wanders and wonders when love will come- No deer to be found and food, she needs some. Her tummy is empty and her poor heart is torn- There is nowhere to run as clouds bring a storm. Thunder and lightning on her soft little head- And the wet foliage stole her comfy bed. As nature does call a baby to cry for affection- I too long for a constant love connection. Her sharp hooves tiny, yet strong when needed- For adoration and nourishment, she always pleaded. I walk through the trail in the woods everyday- And I always see that sweet lil’ doe who lost her way. Today I will find that mamma who needs her young- So they may reunite as a family, becoming one. If only I could find my mother one of these days- Maybe the soft doe in me would find my way. For a mother’s heart should beat for a baby’s laugh, But since I was born my soul has grown but half. Oh mother, I cry find me and save me from woe- I promise I’ll be a good little girl... -just like that tender doe. Fictional Write September 30, 2016

Very nice metaphor of a lost doe, sadly it is the cry of many little lives left alone for various reasons...very beautiful, Laura:)
