The Sweet and Sharp Regret
The heart remembers what the present lacks,
A golden hue upon a bygone scene,
Though time has moved and left its fading tracks,
A phantom touch, where joy had brightly been.
That sweet ache lingers, ever keen and fierce,
For moments in between, a wish whispers,
A yearning deep for what will never be,
The life we lived and what we now can see.
