The Sun Will Rise

At break of dawn the sun will rise again To shed its light upon our eyes again The poets pen will flirt with rhyming words To stroke the verse with lullabies again Some will suffer the pain of a broken heart The tears will flow as sadness sighs again Charcoal clouds gather to darken the day And rain will reign with thunder's guise again And when the rainbow seeks its pot of gold Winds will blow colors in the skies again Soon sunset will paint the evening sky And Luna will find gold as its prize again

I enjoyed the smooth, genuine flow of this, like the watercolor knew just where it needed to flow onto paper.

Hi Joseph You wrote a beautiful poem with lots of imagery, but your poem does not follow the rules of ghazal! The word "again" in your is the refrain. You have to rhyme your poem with " Rise". Which is the last word before the refrain in the first half of your first couplet. In Ghazal there is a consistent internal rhyme that is repeated through out the whole poem. You may choose words like "wise, eyes, lies..." Pashang
