The Substitute Teacher

Tension from every corner of the room. No one moved. The gunman and the substitute teacher locked eyes. She started laughing hysterically. Not understanding why, hating herself for it. Terrified because her traitorous body was laughing. She dared not look at the other children in the room. He showed her an expression she had never seen before or since. She had no idea what he was going to do. Being a sub, she did not know him or any of them really. She shut her eyes, waiting for the kill shot. When she opened them, he was handing her the gun. Definitely a God moment as she had no Idea why she did what she did.

Hi Caren, We were held up by two robbers who held guns to our head, i was also waiting for the kill shot but was so calm, God was with me, I know. This happened in our driveway! After helping themselves to our watches, jewellery, bags and shopping they left us (unhurt but shaken). A great write Caren, xoxo, Jennifer.

Jennifer, I am SO with you. The same thing happened to my husband, except they pushed him into a motel room. He said he knew he was dead, but when he asked if they would leave him with a quarter to call someone, one decided to not kill him. God works in mysterious ways, but you do know this from first-hand experience also. I am relieved you had a terrific outcome also.

Whatever she did it saved the day. I didn't hear any shots fired. Was it a joke or reality" Will we ever now? Well written. Caren. Warm wishes~ Warren

I was the sub, it was pretty close to the truth. I glorified the weapon a bit. It was a compass point held next to a student's throat.

Nerves, they do strange things to us. Well penned and food for thought.

Something very surprising similar happened to me when I was a substitute teacher in a dangerous place.

Interesting write on several levels: the sudden inexplicable laughter (stress does strange things to us sometimes...) and the reaction of the gunman (perhaps her reaction wasn't "hers" at all, but a Spirit-prompted "God thing"...?), very thought-provoking!

You should have been there. It was actually the point of a compass, held to a girl's throat, because I was there.

Not really, I made the weapon worse though, as this is what we are now anticipating thanks to MEDIA glorifying the chicken bullies by writing them up as some kind of heroes.
