The Start of a New Day

The blackest of night waits outside The motionless, dark mountains, silently rest They wait for the sun to rise, ready to shine too Inside, the heart beats with each minute Daylight brings the new beginning it needs We are so fortunate to be granted light in the dark world Nature teaches us how to be beautiful This is a place where we can share a smile like a bouquet A place where the snow reminds us we can play Soon, I will be celebrating the start of a new day 1/31/23 Entry for Brian Strand No 1178 Poetry Contest. Heidi, It's so nice to read this poem called 'The start of a new day' as I begin a new one. I wonder if the old adage 'darkest just before the dawn' holds a bit of truth. -Richard

Lovely Heidi :) This so reminds me of this verse "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him." Lamentations 3:22-24 KJV Your poem so caught the essence of that beautiful Bible verse <3

Yes a beautiful time of day. I love twilight too. Thank you . I am ok, but great difficulty with vision in right eye and pain with any use of it. Have to go to Bostin Eye and Ear specialists and then MRI and Neurologist too here. It is a stressful process. I hope all is well. I will write when I can. I put in poems using microphone now. :)

Hi Michael. Thank you very much for your prayers. I am having a serious right eye issue. The eye doctors in Maine can't help, so I have to go to Boston Eye and Ear Hospital. It is being worked on. In addition to am MRI and Neurologist here
