The Sounds of the River Drums Part 1---
THE SOUNDS OF THE RIVER DRUMS---part 1
AS THE SOUND OF THE BEAT GOES, TUM, TUM, TUM
As the sound of the drum beats boom, boom, boom
Running river waters streaming;
heading down the valleys screaming
Flowing where it may swallow;
Birds swooping down, pecking off the bodies of fishes surfacing now floating;
Waves calling out the names of those that swam away, got away;
Waves of the waters shallow waters turbulence rushing waters;
Avoid that premise says
Chini ya mkondo ukimbilia dhidi ya magogo dhidi ya mabenki ya mto
Kwa upole tunasikia ngoma za mawimbi zinapiga juu yao huko pwani;
Kwa upole tunasikia ngoma tum, tum, tum, boom boom;
Tum,
Tum,
Tum,
Sauti ya ngoma za mto;
Je!
Sauti ya ngoma za mto, wito;
Wao wanaita majina yetu;
Sauti ya ngoma za mto;
kupiga tum, tum, tum;
Sauti ya ngoma za mto;
Down the stream rushing against the logs against the river banks
Quietly we hear the drums of the waves beating on them there shores;
Quietly we hear the drums tum, tum, tum, boom, boom boom;
Tum,
Tum,
Tum,
The sound of the river drums;
Do toll
The sounds of the river drums, call;
They are calling out our names;
The sound of the river drums;
beat tum, tum, tum;
The sounds of the river drums;
Chini ya mkondo ukimbilia dhidi ya magogo dhidi ya mabenki ya mto
Kwa upole tunasikia ngoma za mawimbi zinapiga juu yao huko pwani;
Kwa upole tunasikia ngoma tum, tum, tum, boom boom;
Tum,
Tum,
Tum,
Sauti ya ngoma za mto;
Je!
Sauti ya ngoma za mto, wito;
Wao wanaita majina yetu;
Sauti ya ngoma za mto;
kupiga tum, tum, tum;
Sauti ya ngoma za mto;
