The Sound of the Wind Blowing

A strong wind blowing All through the evening It sounds like the waves Rushing to the shore While I listen to it It is a soothing sound So very peaceful The sound of the wind Is so relaxing When I can not sleep Then I close my eyes To hear the wind blow I then hear the waves Rushing to the shore

Hello Paul, thank you for the comment. I try very hard to improve my poetry. I enjoy to create my poems. This poem came to me as I was sleeping. I woke up, wrote the title , then did the poem when i was more alert. Regards Darlene

Darlene, your poem reminds me of my little mini-Amazon echo that lives in my bedroom. I can merely say "Amazon, rain sounds," or "Amazon, wind sound" and we get the sound immediately. The truth is it sounds exactly the same, for it is wind someone else has recorded. Wind has a unique way about her, and she is such a terrific sound. Your poem is a beautiful reminder of this wonderful sound. I myself say "Amazon, Native American Flute music," which is also terrific to sleep by. Happy New Years!

Beautfully described - I live close to the sea and love the sound of the waves. I don't like it when its too windy Darlene just a gentle breeze is fine but we do get severe gales and can hear the wind blowing down the chimney:-( Happy new year:-) hugs Jan xx
