The Sinking Sausage

Bill's snowman was missing a snout
For carrots in shops had run out.
A sausage sufficed
But as it de-iced
Its purpose was cast into doubt!

It's too bad I was away from this site and missed reading this very humorous offering. Congratulations on winning in the contest.

Hilarious limerick, Wendy, with just the right touch of innuendo. As always, your rhythm is spot on. Congrats on your win with Tania. All the best in 2021, my friend ~ John

Lovely to hear from you again, John. I can only 'do' silly or clever wordplay with this poetic form and it was the former which won this time! All the best to you and the family as well for the year ahead.

The title intrigued me - never thought it could be a snowman limerick. Never wrote one but this is a funny take on winter snow. Congrats, this deserves the win.

Thank you, Joseph. I wanted to say as the snowman de-iced to make the meaning clear but it wouldn't fit the metre!

LOL,, really! I laughed out loud at this one Wendy. Sounds like your snowman might have needed that "little blue pill" LOL

I've changed it slightly since you wrote this comment,David. The idea in my mind was that of the facial sausage replacement gradually sinking down lower as the snowman melted away giving rise to ambiguity. I'm glad that it raised a smile and thanks so much for the comment.
