The Rooster
THE ROOSTER
Me the proud Rooster with dark red crown
and fine feathered wings, yellowish brown
guarding my territory
boosting full family
of fifteen hens roaming happily
and fifty chickens growing gaily.
Me the proud Rooster!
See the small poster
on the board at entry,
showing ‘Mini Poultry’
with fifteen pretty hens
and fifty frolic chickens.
Here, I stay as the only He-cock
to make shrill cry sharp at five o’clock.
alarming poultry master
and his younger sister,
who takes care of our food,
never being rude, always good.
In my den I feel glad and proud,
loitering freely and calling loud.
