The Rainbow Man
The rainbow man.
There was a man who built a massive kaleidoscope
I think he was a borderline communist look
for equality among colours, he walked in
enthralled by his finding, yes indeed all
colours are different but equal, even white and black
have an important place in the scale of shades.
He didn’t come out to eat though he could snack
instead, was he delirious, the hues tasted of a fresh loaf
with marmalade.
He didn’t leave his heaven and was soon forgotten.
Years later, when the scope blew down in a storm
people found a pink skeleton wrapped non-conformity
