The Race To the Store
The race to the store
is the feeling of home.
The thought that the landscape
is yours for the roam.
The feeling your city
will see when you're coming
while everyone watches.
The adrenaline numbing.
Your world in an oyster.
Your vehicle going fast.
The thrill for the moments
of scenery going past.
A weight to your comfort
while numb in your seat.
Your hands on the wheel
with speed as your treat.
Till finally an ending.
Your journey a spot.
You press on the breaks
till calm in the lot.
