The Poison Called Despair

A hopeless cause Lost within the shadows That haunt thy mind, Loathing thyself, Wishing to fade away into the night sky among the stars, A burden that is just an extra mouth to feed, Opinions ignored and yell at for them, Just wanting to escape from the pain of loneliness, Hiding in your room covering my ears To block out yelling from the other room, The one that truly cared has been lost While one makes false promises That I am foolish for hoping he might keep, The painful emotions all bottled up within the confines of my mind, The only comfort is the silence and peace of being alone But are burdened with the pain that comes with it, Looking at the mirror in anger as I see the shadow of myself For whom is the person hidden deep within my mind Locked in a cage, The days are long nightmares Made by the pain of reality Where my only sanctuary is the dreams of sleep Where I escape to. The friends I have are hidden from the true self Of hopeless cause of a friends whom doesn’t deserve Such good people as friends.
