Within a spider's web, I was encased by fine silk thread
My hands held prisoner by his, desire waited to be fed
A veil of pearls he'd strung, like dew drops of satiny jewels
He captured me completely with the nibs of pens for tools
With romantic words he'd written, he made promises of love
but kisses from his lips proved hotter than the sun above
He became the imprisoned one, desire written on his face
We found ourselves tangled in a web of passion's embrace
Held by his wisps of woven threads, we had both been caught
neither of us struggled to be free, neither of us fought
When he enveloped me as his prey, a feast had been his goal
but before the night was over, he took me deep into his soul
I unwound my fingers from the poet so I could write him into my heart
Together we weave romantic poems to keep our web from falling apart
