The Passion of the Oil

I wrote this poem back in 2004, as the U.S. could not find any weapon of mass destruction in Iraq.

The Oil The Call
The Oil The Thirst
Blood Runs First
Oil For Goal

The Oil The Gush
The Oil The Light
Blood Runs Bright
Oil For Us

The Oily Church Claims
In Juice we Trust
And Oil Is Our New Mantra

Bring Grief To Them
Iraq we'll Crush
And Oil Bless America

Wow.... this sonnet has so few words, yet says so much and is so powerful and true. Fantastic poem. And Anne-Marie is right... please write some more :)

My friend Kay and I think that you brilliantly know how to put the nail on the head in a simple and powerful way and that your humor heightens it all . . . so we are asking for more Alain:) Amitiés PS: pas besoin de répondre, écris simplement un autre poème.

Alain, you punctuated a brief but powerful, clever, tragic and funny poem with four words that remind us of the too often greedy and power motivated nature of men. By the way, loved the 'rating' lines added. Very well done:) Amitiés

Alain, your poem touched me deeply, beneath the words of this poem is death, well done and welcome to poetry soup ~

Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, nothing has really changed, and one way or another the U.S. is responsible for 9 out of 10 death in the Middle-East as well as the invasion of Europe b y refugees. Kill, divide and conquer at the power 10.
