The Owl
I once found a rip just along my reality
I climbed in its hole escaping is my speciality
Inside I met an owl who smiled with a frown
He said you'll never go up if you're always looking down
He hummed a song that held no rhythm or rhyme
About a world that grew tired of the concept of time
He looked up at the sun and said the moon was his wife
And painted a story about the river that he called life
That you'll only know the ground if you've never seen the sky.
And you'll only know life if you never have to die
The real things you only see when you close your eyes
And there'd be no such thing as hello if we never said goodbye
That there are only shadows because we have light
No matter how many days there will always be a night
He held a mirror but said the reflection went away
That sometimes he's glad or maybe sad but words don't always mean what they say
In his other hand he held what to be an endless maze
He said it's for the man who loves to run in place
Our personalities are just barriers we've all built inside
Were really just one person but that one person always tries to hide
He said were all interconnected by just a single being
And everything we see Will never be as what it seems
He said there's more to the idea but there is a thing called sin
and that path is paved with more than one good intention
No matter how much you learn you will never ever know
You must experience it yourself and always reap what you sow
Live in the question because the answers will never end
We live on forever but our bodies are just dust in the wind
I had just one question I asked if he was god
He told me no but he said so with a nod
