The Over Thinker

Over thinking is both a blessing and a curse its inspired me to write this verse. Protecting ones self is a heavy job often leading to disaster and a heartfelt sob Pulling the barriers down is not easy for the mind the pains of the past never easy to unwind A child not understood a teenager determined to make good in a rotting neighbourhood. A family who has secrets and twists, the adult determined to find inner bliss. Relationships tough with the over thinking mind, making the now moments very hard to find Throughout all this I smile and laugh masking the over thinking mind that darkens my path I look in the mirror who is the real me? not the one looking back thats easy to see I said from the start you deserve more....its written in my lifes tangled crystal ball People are brought to us to help build our puzzle the over thinking mind still has no muzzle If I can touch a small few with the inner me along the way, it's not all bad even if they choose not to stay Regrets are never a thing, each experience bright as the bird who sings I'm not penning this to be understood my mind is a hole but my intentions are good One day the mind may chill, bringing with it a deep sence of still Then looking up to the dark night sky, I'll thank the stars for all that has gone by
