Listen to poem:
always a place to land, though nothing to see vacant possession of a once was tree I'd explain more but you wouldn't understand though nothing to see, always a place to land stay in formation, just follow the cues ending up nowhere, but playing by the rules get lost in thought, call it a vacation just follow the cues, stay in formation dizzy is my head, though I see a road no clues here, no detail, no code forwards and backwards is straight ahead though I see a road, dizzy is my head as clouds broke apart, they exposed the blue it was all so well hidden too the shapes rearranged reveal a heart they exposed the blue, as clouds broke apart I might run up that hill, to be struck by a car not a single direction takes me very far if I'm honest, I think I am losing the will to be struck by a car, I might run up that hill

A tranquil scene at first glance Dilly, and a little bit of a puzzle, which side of the road to drive on, is the road intact, or are sinkholes over each hump, only those birds know for sure, but probably don’t really care, such is the tone in this piece, losing the will personified and captured, I can sense and breathe it, another top Ekphrasis from Dilly Dally, cheers David

I might be vegetarian, but I couldn't condone a wobbly road marking... It's a little gappy actually, maybe there were a few other once was's on that stretch :) maybe the birds pick them off over time haha (direction change on the painting lol)

You have me thinking now would it be worse to paint those yellow lines around a roadkill or straight over it?

Ahh you're seeing more than me in these paintings now! I didn't think about the risk of subsidence :) it could also be a hot day and it's melting Dali-esque :) no doubt those paint markings will have gone over some roadkill just out of shot - can't have been fun marking that out haha. Anymore for anymore? Erm maybe the birds are pointing the way :) thanks for stopping by David, appreciated

Ah i absolutely love the name of this artwork, and also the artwork, looks gloomy and deep and you've written on that is so very moving and feels sincere and what one sometimes would feel when overwhelmed. And what i absolutely love about this poem is how youv made some lines echo, that gives a very catchy cadence to your word weaving! And as always you read it so beautifully! You have a voice that will be admired by many! Such a soul stirring and heartfelt poem! Love everything about this!

Thank you Ink, I'm not sure about the admired voice bit - perhaps it takes on a lilt if there are some oceans in-between :) swap quatrains are like magic - like a song but incredibly easy to write once in the swing. There's a strange heaviness to the painting that I wanted to capture and hopefully did by hopping about with the images in the painting. Thank you for your kind words

Dear DD, Love the painting! this piece feels so much like drifting through a fog of thought. I feel lost, searching, yet oddly anchored. I like the repetition for it is like a trance, pulling me deeper into its quiet unraveling. There’s something raw and restless here, something I feel deeply. Brilliantly done. Winter Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Thank you so much Daniel, it does have an unusual vibe which I attempted to capture in the poem. The swap quatrains are quite trance like and so quick to write. I appreciate your perceptive feedback.

That's a skate board road to die for. Where's the ski lift to get back to the top.

Never mastered the skateboard, might attempt it on a bike after a few lesser warm up ramps though. Maybe sledging if someone is on car watch.

This is another painting done all wrong that works. It is interesting in it's repetitive structure. Your poem brings realism to the flatness. I enjoy both poem and painting.

Thank you Hilda, you're right - the painting is inexplicably compelling. I appreciate you stopping by.
