The Only One
Dark moments past witching hour,
mind watching
the clicking of neural connections
dicing the silence.
The past and future
keep gatecrashing the eye
in the middle of your nowhere.
The only thing to do
is blink those intruders away.
For now, the night is a nether world
one that does not reside in any clock.
Your mind is struck dumb
by a Greater Consciousness.
Call that Stillness: Awareness,
or by any name you choose,
it is the only One here,
the only one that is awake,
the only one that counts.
