The One I Lost

where has your smile gone?
where is the twinkle-
that used to be i your eye?
where is the laugh that comforted me?
where are the words that
used to tell me that you weregoing to be-
there till the end?
where is the touch that calmed me? 
where is the body 
that used to hold me tight?
when it got late at night?
and my demons would come
telling and reminding me
of what i was and what happened
but baby, you've got to believe me
when i say i miss you
and i'm sorry
that i didn't mean what i said
or that i never really wanted to be without you
cuz your my savior
if not only for the fact
that i love you-
but, that you beat the demons back
and loved me like no other
for this, i sit here waiting
for you
if only you would-
hear my cries
as the days go by
of my despair and loneliness
of whatit's like to be without you
and without my sunshine...
