The Old Rugged Cross
When I look at that cross, I don’t just see two shapes
But rather I see the heart that aches
The heart of our savior
That made sure we had an easy way to repent for our behavior
The cross is more than a just a chain or necklace that we wear
But rather it’s a symbol of the pain Jesus had to bare
It’s a symbolism of hope and love
A gift given from up above
A gift so precious that only one would pay the price
That person being our savior Jesus Christ
Only he loves us enough to die for us
And he did it without one fuss
So next time you think your life is a loss
Just remember that old rugged cross
